In 2023 I'm going to try reading the Bible following
|
|
[[https://www.elizabethclareblog.com/the-catholic-bible-in-360/][The
|
|
{Catholic} Bible in 360 Challenge]] (the actual plan and check
|
|
sheet is [[https://www.elizabethclareblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Catholic-Bible-in-360-Challenge.pdf][here]]). I like this plan because
|
|
|
|
- it divides the Bible into three sections, Old Testament,
|
|
Wisdom[fn:1: The Wisdom books are considered to be part of the Old
|
|
Testament.], and New Testament, with a reading from each section
|
|
each day, similar to the pattern of Bible readings in the Mass,
|
|
|
|
- all of the books are read through completely in order,
|
|
|
|
- the readings begin with Genesis, Job, and Matthew, respectively the
|
|
first book of the Old Testament, the oldest of the Wisdom books, and
|
|
the first book of the New Testament,
|
|
|
|
- the plan is divided by numbered days instead of dates so the plan
|
|
can be started any time.
|
|
|
|
I'll be reading the Project Gutenberg edition of the [[https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/1581][Douay-Rheims
|
|
Bible]] on my Kindle.
