prepop is a simple "online" POP3 email client. It's a complementing
email client doing some of the things your ordinary email client
should have handled in the first place.

When read_active is on, slrn still enters all groups to find the
number of unread articles, which slows down startup considerably.
* force_authentication is ignored when re-connecting

When re-connecting, slrn only sends authentication data if the server
requests it, even if force_authentication is set.
* Request for authentication is not always recognized

In some rare cases, slrn does not notice that it needs to send
authentication data, although the server requests it. This can even
damage your newsrc file.
* Parse "news:" URLs enclosed in angle brackets correctly

When a "news:" URL is enclosed in angle brackets, slrn regards the
closing bracket as a part of it.
* No longer writes extraneous null byte when saving to file.
* Added GetTextBufferSize() call on editorengine and Fl_Editor that returns
the number of characters that should be allocated in order to save the
text to a buffer. The CharacterCount() method returns only characters
actually presently in the buffer, while this new method considers the line
ending characters that would be added when saving.

This is GNU Mailman, a mailing list management system distributed
under the GNU Public License (GPL).
Mailman has most of the standard features you'd expect in a
mailing list manager, and more.
include much faster redraws, significantly lower CPU usage, ability
to specify color for both flat-shaded and wireframe objects, and
transparent CPU load / zoom buttons.
background, antialiased clock hands, alpha-blended bubbles, and
cool fish swimming around behind the clock. Displays current time
with up-to-the-second accuracy, and today's date and day of the
week. But wait, there is more! Move your mouse inside the screen,
and the fish will get scared and run away! (Only if your Window
Manager doesn't suck). Oh yeah, and it checks your mail, too!
"BubbleMon" applet (here). Basically, it displays CPU and memory
load as bubbles in a jar of water. But that's where similarity ends.
New bubblemon-dockapp features translucent CPU load meter (for
accurate CPU load measurement), yellow duck swimming back and forth
on the water surface (just for fun), and fading load average and
memory usage screens.
