archives, and directories
ok sthen@
diffoscope will try to get to the bottom of what makes files or
directories different. It will recursively unpack archives of many kinds
and transform various binary formats into more human readable form to
compare them. It can compare two tarballs, ISO images, or PDF just as
easily.
It can be scripted through error codes, and a report can be produced
with the detected differences. The report can be text or HTML. When no
type of report has been selected, diffoscope defaults to write a text
report on the standard output.
diffoscope was initially started by the "reproducible builds" Debian
project and now being developed as part of the wider "Reproducible
Builds" initiative. It is meant to be able to quickly understand why two
builds of the same package produce different outputs. diffoscope was
previously named debbindiff.

While here, test whether the dir actually exist. And remove mention of
the migration from /var/service to /service, it's been a long time.

log monitoring program to watch and report on log files
Description:
tenshi is a log monitoring program, designed to watch one or more
log files for lines matching user defined regular expressions and
report on the matches. The regular expressions are assigned to
queues which have an alert interval and a list of mail recipients.
Queues can be set to send a notification as soon as there is a log
line assigned to it, or to send periodic reports.
- could probably be moved to 1.1 (this just uses the command-line tool's
cms commands) but that will need testing and patching to use the different
binary name
