This software consists of XMMS plugin and stdin/stdout plugin. It
was written for realtime remastering of sound from mp3 files. You
will need a reasonably good stereo and a good ear to notice quality
improvement, otherwise this is not for you. This plugin tries to
patch mp3 format flaws, not a poor audio hardware! Yes, you should
be able to hear well enough (sorry) - for some of my friends plugin
is a cool thing, while the others does not hear nothing but echo
and stereo expander (well, you will hear every effect if you set
it to the maximum, but it will not sound nice).

grouped into 4 different modules.
- Karaoke: removes the song's voices, trying to preserve the bass and drums.
- Panning: smoothly selects between the two stereo channels.
- Modulation: three classical effects: flange, phaser and chorus.
- Reverberation: simulates the reverberation of a huge room.

XMMS-EQ has been installed.
*** WARNING ***
This plugin crashes XMMS when you try to disable it from the GUI.
The temporary solution for this is to manually edit the XMMS configuration
file (usually "~/.xmms/config") and remove "libeq.so" from the variable
"enabled_eplugins" in the section "xmms". For example:
When it is enabled it looks like this.
[xmms]
enabled_eplugins=libeq.so,libecho.so
To disable it remove "libeq.so". Like this.
[xmms]
enabled_eplugins=libecho.so
If "libeq.so" is the only component of the variable, you can remove the whole
line.

FX Toolbox plugin for XMMS.
People who enjoyed EaglePlayer II on Amiga, may remember the 8-bit Amplifier,
which featured a nice Surround effect. This plugin is an attempt to recreate
the same effect, plus some other goodies.
About the surround effect: it works like a cross echo. Some amount of the left
channel is delayed of some milliseconds, then added to the right channel, and
vice-versa.
* Provide a feeling of bigger room (that's what they said :).
* Reduce ear pressure when using headphones, especially with mods (try it to
understand).
* Despite being nearly a stereo -> mono effect, you can still locate the sound
in space, thanks to the delay.

This port is the ModPlug plugin for XMMS. ModPlug is
arguably the best mod-like music rendering engine
capable of playing 22 different module formats. This
plugin can also handle zip, rar, gzip and bzip2
compressed mods (provided unzip, gunzip, unrar are
installed).

XMMS mp3cue adds cue file support to XMMS. Cue files store
information (Artist, Title, Time) describing smaller tracks
within a large audio file. mp3cue allows you to easily manipulate
these cue files; and more importantly, it presents you with a
separate playlist composed from the cue information which you can
use to easily navigate to any of the smaller tracks in the audio
file, just like a normal playlist. You can also save this cue
information within an ID3v2 tag (if the audio file is an mp3),
eliminating the need for an external cue file.

OSSSuround is an output plugin for XMMS included with xmms-a52dec.
(audio/xmms-a52dec). It provides surround sound capability to
xmms-a42dec and is fully compatible with all other input plugins.
It can be used as a dropin replacement for the original OSS plugin
distributed with XMMS. For developers, if you are interested in
using OSSSurround to provide surround sound support for your XMMS
input plugin, you can read the API document or contact the author
for help.
