Use a singleton `Jid` inside the connection instead of always re-creating
a `Jid` from the same string.

Ensure consistent invocation of `plugins_pre_chat_message_display`
for outgoing messages. Before the change, the function was not
called for sent messages upon sending, but only on fetching
sent messages from DB.
Fix https://github.com/profanity-im/profanity/issues/1917
Refactor function to enhance memory handling, addressing
temporary workaround introduced in 2e0adbd. Adjustments
ensure cleaner code and maintainability.
Part of the improvements suggested by @sjaeckel.
**Please, backup your DB before performing any testing.**
Introduce new DB structure and DB migration mechanism.
Index `timestamp`, `to_jid`, `from_jid` columns to improve performance.
Add trigger for `replaced_by_db_id` calculation by DB on message insert.
Now LMC messages are interconnected with original messages,
this way we have fast access to last (hence correct) applicable edits,
as well as reference to the original message from any edit (in case of chained edits).
Change the way LMC messages are being displayed. Now we check if we
can replace a message from current buffer. If we don't have a message in
the buffer, it might've been lost, but we can still display it as a
new message.

Refactor getting char, introduce get_show_char() to follow DRY principle.
In theory, performance might be negatively affected after this change.
Ideally get_show_char should be optimized in the future.
Refactor `p_gpg_list_keys`
Add `/pgp autoimport` command,
it's not described in XEP-0027, but used in some clients,
such as PSI, Pidgin. It will autoimport keys received with
`/pgp sendpub`, in plain text as a message, or using features,
provided in other clients. It doesn't autoassign them, but shows
command to assign, letting user to decide.
Improve documentation for some preexisting functions
Add contact argument to `/pgp sendpub`
After adding MAM quote and url autocompletion wouldn't pick up messages
from MAM or history(from DB) or would have them in the wrong order. This
commit fixes that.
Fixes https://github.com/profanity-im/profanity/issues/1770
I think this PR already solves and improves the MAM situation a lot.
What's @MarcoPolo-PasTonMolo still wanted to do in this branch is:
* MAM for mucs
* Check if url and quotes autocompletion works fine
* Check if the api still works fine
* Resolve conflicts
Conflicts are solved with this commit.
MAM for mucs can be another feature PR.
The rest we can check while being on master. And more people can help
testing.
Did this by waiting for a batch of MAM messages to arrive before
prepending them to the buffer. Also limited the number of messages
to fetch to 10 so that the user gets more frequent updates.
Fixes https://github.com/profanity-im/profanity/issues/1649
Type `>` then press tab or shift tab to autocomplete previous messages,
then type your reply and send message.
Newlines are replaced with newline followed by `> `.
A newline is added at the end so that the user can immediately type a
message without manually adding a new line.
_chatwin_history() reassigns msg->plain without freeing previous
string. This leads to memory leak. As a temporary solution, free
replaced string.
Fixes#1585.
The function `omemo_start_session` was effectively called twice in the
`/msg` command: Once in `chatwin_new` and afterwards in `cmd_msg`. I've
removed the second call.
00dbc1ba7c attempted to fix
https://github.com/profanity-im/profanity/issues/1449.
Here we revert the part about initializing is_omemo in chatwin_new()
since this is done in win_create_chat() already.
The actual mistake was the wrong cast of the muc window which is fixed
by the same commit. The mistake was introduced in in 3370418d71.
While being at it we also remove the is_ox initialization since this is
handled in win_create_chat()/win_create_muc() too.
If we receive a message we get:
<< room message: eagle@conference.anoxinon.me (win 2)
Same for private chats and regular chats.
And several other kinds of notifications.
If we only receive notifications from a chat window it would be nice to
also clear the hilight on the console window since we already catched up
by reading the actual message in the chat window.
Probably not the best description :-) I hope you get it..
