Irssi

Irssi is a modular text mode chat client. It comes with IRC support built in, and there are third party ICB, SILC, XMPP (Jabber), PSYC and Quassel protocol modules available.

Development source installation

Ninja 1.5 and Meson 0.49

git clone https://github.com/irssi/irssi
cd irssi
meson Build
ninja -C Build && sudo ninja -C Build install

Release source installation

• Download release
• Verify signature

tar xJf irssi-*.tar.xz
cd irssi-*
meson Build
ninja -C Build && sudo ninja -C Build install

Requirements

• glib-2.32 or greater
• openssl
• perl-5.6 or greater (for perl support)
• terminfo or ncurses (for text frontend)
