/gnoomaks/ , n. [contraction of GNU EMACS ] Often-heard abbreviated name for
the GNU project's flagship tool, EMACS. StallMACS , referring to Richard
Stallman, is less common but also heard. Used esp. in contrast with GOSMACS
and X Emacs.
